Explore Career Bar
The open career development platform by The Humans of HR
The Humans of HR began in the open education movement: knowledge worth having shouldn’t sit behind paywalls. Career Bar is where that principle extends from learning about the world of work to self-managing careers.
Most people get developmental support by accident. A manager who invested, a mentor who happened to notice, a company with a budget that year. Career Bar is a third space for that work: not your employer, not a recruiter, no stake in where you land. Free tools and AI coaching open to anyone, and human coaching from qualified practitioners when you want it.

How it works.
1
Create a free account
No gate, no trial clock. Get access to the full tool library and content on day one.
2
Work it through with the AI coach & tools
Talk through the search, the decision, or the plateau. Free, and available whenever you need it.
3
Book a human coach, if you want one
Vetted practitioners with real credentials, on your terms, only when the situation calls for it.
For
Talent
Career Bar, for wherever you are in your career.
- Looking for work. Tools to organize your search, sharpen how you present yourself, and a coach if you want one.
- In a role that isn’t going anywhere. Somewhere to think it through before you make the move.
- Senior, and undeveloped for years. Support tends to stop at a certain level. This is where it continues.
Start free — no gate.
For
Coaches
We’re curating a coaching network and being selective about it: internationally-recognized career coaching certification, or a background in HR, work & organizational psychology, or an adjacent discipline. That’s the bar, and it doesn’t move.
You bring the practice. We bring the clients, the tech, and the administration.

Career Bar by The Humans of HR
Our Story.
Built on content and services dating back to 2020, Career Bar was born out of The Humans of HR’s service-to-product transformation. Inspired by Ray Oldenburg’s concept of the third place — spaces where people gather freely, outside home and work, without hierarchy or obligation — Career Bar brings the best corporate talent development practices out into the real world, for anyone navigating a career, not just those with the right title, the right network, or the right budget.
A place to celebrate the wins. A place to fall apart when it’s hard. Whichever one it is, there’s always a human behind the counter.
For every talent.
Let’s build the career support you didn’t get by accident.
Drag the cube
Questions.
Is this connected to my employer?
No. Career Bar has no relationship with any employer or recruiter that gives them access to you. Your profile, your sessions, and everything you do here stay private and belong to you — always. We do not sell your activity information to anyone, as confidentiality is our professional obligation. If your employer offers Career Bar as a benefit and covers the cost, all they get is the bill.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes, you have a free trial period in which you can test Career Bar Pro out and cancel if you wish to do so.
What’s actually free?
The tool library, the learning content, the AI coaching. Anything that doesn’t require a human requires no credit card, unless you want unlimited access. You can also use referrals to pay for human services, without ever sharing your card details.
Who are the human coaches?
Practitioners with internationally-recognized career coaching certification, or a background in HR, work and organizational psychology, or an adjacent discipline. We vet the network directly.
How do referrals work?
When you refer a friend, both obtain monetary credits that can be used to pay for services within the app.
Is Career Bar owned by The Humans of HR?
Yes. The Humans of HR is Career Bar’s parent project. The educational media produced here is linked to Career Bar’s free content library, and leads back directly to The Humans of HR.
